I have used:
1) 8.00 mm hook (US = L, UK = 0) for bag
2) 4.00 mm hook (US = G, UK = 8) for handle
3) Chunky yarn 400 gm
4) Tapestry needle
5) One Plastic Canvas size 13" x 10.5"
Gauge: Size 8.00 mm hook: 11 sc = 4”
Size: Bottom of the bag is 15.5” x 4.5” and 12.5” high.
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
st = stitch
sl = slip
pc = popcorn stitch
dc = double crochet
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, turn. (6)
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, turn. (8)
Row 4-98: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (or make as long as you like)
Row 99: Ch 1, sc first 2 sts tog, sc in next 4 sts, sc next 2 sts tog, turn. (6)
Row 100: Ch 1, sc first 2 sts tog, sc in next 2 sts, sc next 2 sts tog, fasten off. (4)
Sew side of handle together but leave 8 rows at both ends free, see picture.
Sew bag to the bottom, use piece of yarns to keep them in right place.
Pin handle on bag and sew.
Make 2 strings on both side of bag, see picture. How to make these 2 tassels is described in a new blog post.
